Clinical studies have documented that physical therapy services begun during the early stage of the disease process retard the progression of symptoms. Based on this overwhelming clinical evidence, in January of 2002, Medicare approved coverage for physical therapy services for early intervention. This program is a multidisciplinary approach utilizing both a physical therapist and an MSW.
